I wonder why you guys are saying we don't have a music scene here in Amarillo. Why don't you look at the right side of this website and see all the great bands that are having concerts. Maybe you should go see these guys and quit your bitching.

If you don't play guitar and/or rock covers, it's kind of hard to get a gig, at least a paying one. Remember when OHMS had all-ages shows, LOUD music... and a stage? I don't, but apparently they did. Maybe you don't see national tours stopping in Amarillo every other night. But they do some here now and then. There are a lot of good bands in Amarillo. I just don't think you guys get out and check them out enough. I'll bet if you started getting in to the nightlife in Amarillo and see all the live music, you might think differently. Amarillo has never been Austin, and it never will be. Get over the idea of having the live music scene of a city 10 times the size of Amarillo. It will never happen, just get used to it. When you go out and support the local bands, tell them how good they are. Tell the bars too, because they will have them back when they hear you guys want the bands! Give it a try! Go see a band next weekend. Don't stop there. Get out at least once a week, and I'm sure you'll be surprised! We have a music scene Amarillo. Quit bitching about it and go find it!
